"Changes" - David Bowie & Butterfly Boucher

So.

Here.
we.
go.
guys.

The RunEmz journey on a treadmill is quickly coming together.

This distance has become a "training run" and. it's. freaking. awesome.

I want to give you a little information about the cause I am passionate about:

Since 1977, Sojourner Center has provided shelter and support services to thousands of individuals affected by domestic violence. Through empowerment families discover hope and have the opportunity to build a new future . . . .

free
from
violence.

As the nation's largest domestic violence shelter, Sojourner Center is a tireless advocate for domestic violence victims and survivors. With the continued support of the community, Sojourner Center can help women and children overcome the impact of domestic violence . . .

one
life
at
a
time.

The run will be at the Channel 12 studio [200 East Van Buren] ..... outside.  Yep, I said  o u t s i d e .

There will be prizes to my followers who collect the most donations.

The new "RUN EMZ" shirts [same front . . .added new back. . . .see below]

will be given to donors [who donate over $50] - - who knows, one of the prizes may be a 5 pound Gummy bear!

You can click on the [ 24 hour treadmill "runemz" button at top right ]  to donate.  It will take you to the new site . . . . just click on the "donate" tab.

Please be sure to indicate the size needed.

Details to follow about categories and opportunities. If any of you want to be a sponsor or know of someone who would like to have their product on the website and possibly, get air time at the tv station, let me know.
There will be bands, food, hand-outs, etc.

If any of you want to come to AZ and run with me (on another treadmill, of course), let me know.

Let. it. rock.

You will do great!

donation is done - I couldn't resist the opportunity to get a EMZ shirt (and to support a great cause)!

Nelly said...

Also, are our contributions tax deductible since the Sojourner Center is a charity?

Generally for tax purposes the amount of your charitable contribution minus the value of whatever goods you get in return is your allowable tax deduction.

But since the value of a EMZ shirt is infinity, my allowable tax deduction might be below zero! haha (alright, I'm a tax accountant, and that was a lame attempt at tax humor, haha)

Emz said...

Nelly. Love. It.

Sojourner will send a letter to each of you for your tax needs.

You. Are. Awesome.

Yowza! A marathon as a training run!?! I've said it before and I'll say it again, You. Are. My. Hero.
You're going to rock this run so hard.

I also love the cause that you are supporting. Something very near and dear to my heart. I'm sending out a link to everyone I know to see if they will donate as well :)

OCP----thank you!!!!!!!!!!

We should hook up SKYPE on different peoples treadmills and then set up times so that you can chat/run them while they run on another treadmill, but with you to keep you company for an hour here or there...

Love the new website! Great cause!

You do freaking got it!

Hannah said...

I am so so so so so so so so excited for you! And how fun when your marathon+ distances are training runs. I LOVE IT!

I am seriously just giddy about your 24 hour treadmill run! You are incredible, and I love it!

Jan[et] Cicelia said...

Does the donation have to be OVER $50 for a shirt? I'm scraping one together (not only for the shirt, but for you and for the cause). Not working = hard.

Not as hard as running 24 hours. on a treadmill. Scraping = worth it.

Aimee said...

What a great cause! Like everyone else has said, you are awesome!!! I love the shirt too! Very cool!

Anonymous said...

YOU have freaking got this. Wow. Training run, eh? I'm oddly jealous of your endeavour. I think it would be awesome to test the body like that while raising awareness and money for something amazing. Can't wait to hear more (I am so behind on blog reading).
