"Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart" - Alicia Keys

My Cats.

I'm still sad.

When

Does

The

Bummer

Feeling

Pass?!

This is no joke. Pita [after the loss] said "we need to get you outta here and do something".

So I said, "let's go rent a movie" [I know, I know, I'm a wild and crazy girl].

45 minutes into it . . . . . . I fall asleep.

Only

To

Wake

Myself up

[sitting up]

saying, "cats score! then..." [not sure why I said "then"] I woke up.

Freaked the snot out of the pita.

So. Sad.

BUT . . . . Now, I'm hoppin' on the Bulter Bandwagon.

In running news . . .

happy.  happy. happy.

Biggest MILEAGE week in my life.

Monday:  11.5
Tuesday:  11.5
Wednesday:  11

Thursday:  r e s t

Friday:  34.5
Saturday:  15.7

Sunday:  r e s t

EQUALS   =   84.2 miles

Happy Emz.

But can someone please tell me how I have a "sock tan line" when I only run indoors?!
39 days until this.

a w e s o m e.

I know, Neil and Matty-O, when's the 44.44 coming?!

I am surprised your feet fit in heels after all that mileage, congrats on the great week of running

Whats the 44.44, I have a feeling its not something I will be doing

bobbi said...

I have no clue how you do it - both put in ALL THOSE MILES (um, you are ahead of my MONTH in one week) and. AND. WALK IN HEELS after all those miles.

Your feet are warriors. Truly.

Christi said...

Yeah, I am totally wondering how you walk in heels with all those awesome miles!

Sarah said...

My first thought was, "Your cats died? Both of them?"

84.2 miles ... rock star. That's only 6 miles less than I've run this year. I could blame it on injuries, but I'm going glass half full and saying you are the energizer bunny of training. When you finish your next run you will have 'chicked' me on the treadmill. Cool.

Caroline said...

What? 2 days of rest?!!! I kid I kid.
It will pass when the Dance will be OVER.
I am on team Butler! They win, I win!
Can you believe after all these crazy games I am still leading my pool. That is nuts.

Sorry, hope you don't have any more nightmares! I use to have panic attacks in my sleep talk about traumatic. WOW on the mileage! That is amazing!

Neil Zee said...

44.44... please don't hurt yourself jumping up 25% in mileage... Whenever you feel ready to tackle that one... but not before.

Generation X (Slomohusky) said...

ALL on the treadmill?!

77 here today with abundant sunshine! so says the weatherchannel. Can't imagine AZ being any less appealing for an outdoor run?

XLMIC said...

So sorry about the 'Cats.

I am amazed by your mileage ... and the shoes :)

Can't wait to see you do that 44.44!

ShutUpandRun said...

If you washed your legs, you wouldn't have that line. That's my best advice and I'm sticking to it.

The mileage. I can't even comment. It is amazing. I cannot fathom doing that much mileage in a week. You rock girl. Just rock.

You should have woken up and yelled "84.2" but maybe that will be tonight. You might want to warn the PITA.

Aimee said...

Nice job on the miles!! That is just amazing!

Meg O @watchmegorun said...

I'm with everyone else, no idea how you can rock out all those miles then wear those hiiiiigh heels (which are so cute, by the way). You are a rockstar!

Adrienne said...

You just ran my monthly mileage all in one week. Unbelievable. Awesome.

Michelle said...

84.2?!?!? Seriously I have no words! You just rock girl...that's all!

Rene' said...

I am in awe of your mileage. Holy smoly....
We are jumping on the VCU bandwagon. I didn't even know they exitsted until this weekend.

Emz said...

Rene. Must. Confess. Nor. Did. I.

You guys are too nice. Thank you. Prior to this my high was 66-67. So. I'm a little stoked. ;)

Hope that's allowed?!

I know how you feel about Arizona losing - it does hurt when your team loses! The best year in basketball Stanford has ever had was 1998, when they made the final 4. It took a miracle comeback to beat Rhode Island to make it there. Then they lost to Kentucky by 1 in overtime for the chance to go to the final - awesome game. Honestly I wasn't really that bummed about losing in the final 4, because I was so proud of the team getting there in the first place, haha Always fun to enjoy the journey and not just the destination =)

Nelly. You. Rock. So. True.

Thanks
For

I don't think the question is the tan line. It's how the heck are you wearing heels after running that much in a week?

LB said...

fierce shoes. i dont know how you wear them after 84 miles though :)

Jess @ Blonde Ponytail said...

I wanna be you!!! AMAZING--wear is your cape!!!

Can you bring me up to speed on the number 4? IS it your fav? Peanut's? Pita's?

Can't wait to meet you Super-EMZ!!!

OMG I can't get over the sock tan line! hahahaha

Seriously awesome mileage. And you can still wear those shoes! WOW!

Gracie said...

I love those shoes!

Jason said...

You get over it by ordering one of your favorite bloggers a dozen cupcakes. I feel better now.

I need a bandwagon to get on and I think Butler is the best one to root for as well.

UK - Suck IT Calipari
VCU - Just not into that much of a Cinderella
UCONN - One man show is not for me even if he has a cool name like KEMBA!

So the Butler did it is my choice as well.

Enjoy the cakes.

whoa! your white socks are bleeding through to your feet. crazy. That is some amazing mileage. I've had some months that were less.

Allison said...

That mileage is in insane....those shoes are awesome :)

RoseRunner said...

I think I had an 87-88 mile week a couple weeks ago -- I didn't realize that was a high week...it just kinda happened.

I've certainly never ran 30 miles though before! You're in your own league on that one

racing dawn said...

you must've forgotten to take your socks off while you laying out in your 90 degree weather out there... :)

84.2 miles in one week? You've just given the evidence for not being human, you know that, right? ;)

Steel Springs said...

Awesome week! I can't even fathom running over 15 for a recovery run.

Caratunk Girl said...

Amazing week.

You rock.

But holy crap, those heels must freaking KILL after 80+ miles of running.

Jim ... 50after40 said...

Wow great week of mileage! If you want more sports heart-ache, join me as a MIZZOU fan ... nothing but disappointment!

Quinton J said...

I have no idea how the PITA fits in your shoes. Tell him to tan his feet.

Molly said...

I'm bummed x2, first SU blows it, then UNC. My Daddy's a Tarheel and I still haven't talked to him about the game : (

KovasP said...

I'll accept an 88.88 mile week in lieu of the 44.44 mile run, but only if one of the runs is at the Grand Canyon.

AM! said...

saw your heels pic and had to share that yes, I've worn heels (well wedgy heels) 3 times in the last few weeks w/out any problems!!

I think you may be onto something! I've ditched my orthotics, and walk around barefoot all day (indoors) and don't beat an eyelash when wearing normal shoes outside.

love it;-)

Matty O said...

Just remember what I said, a lot of Ultra peeps train by walking and BE SMART :)

You are amazing, keep up the great work and keep healthy :)

You honestly wear shoes like that?! You must be bi-polar or something because someone who is such a kick ass athlete as you cannot also dress like she is on a real housewives of (somewhere) show!!!

Emz said...

MO. Too funny. If you ask anyone in my "housewives" circle they'll tell you.......

Really emz, will all your clothing contacts,
Really wearing
Your SELF promoting shirt---again?!

You. Bet. Cha.

That was a Sunday. Sunday is all out day. ;)

Yay AMG4TW!!

Johann said...

Holy cow, those are huge miles, well done! My sock tan line never goes away, never. I've had it now for years and years but I only run outside. Agree with Matty O, how can you run 84.2 miles in a week and even own clothes like that? It would be like me owning a tie or suit or something.

Katie said...

awesome awesome amazing week. bomb.

Matty O said...

hahahaha too funny.

I'm big on high mileage Em. Not all the time but you have to try and see how much you can handle.

It will take you to the next level, if it doesn't kill you that is ;)
