"Remind Me" - Brad Paisley + Carrie Underwood

Can someone please remind me why I live here in Haboob-ville?

So we were Haboobed last night.

Pita:  so that's either a wall of dirt or it's the end of the world.

Me:  don't say that.  Peanut isn't home tonight.  When we go down [or hopefully "up"] we go together!

Looked at my phone to see if it was going to R-word.  " r a i n ".  Nope.  but look at the cool dirt effects at the top.  Only in AZ baby!

Then it hit [from the south].  We had the house on lock down [blinds, shutters, drapes].  Mase was laying in the middle of the yard like, "what you lookin' at?"  Ummmm ya, then we couldn't even see him.  No joke.

Woke up to this:

disgusting.

I mean seriously . . . .Mase wouldn't even get in.

Remind me . . . .

Why my awesome nephew is leaving for two years?

[yes, I really turned up in my running gear]

Actually, I freaking - freaking - love him.

Remind me . . .

Why I have to hit "start" for my Garmin to work?
First run ever using it "indoors on Mill".
I'm a total idiot.
Was sooooooooooooooooooo stoked to see all my [nonexistent] "data".

Remind me . . .

Why people drive mini-vans.

I kid.  I kid.  I know.......... most of my sisters drive them.  They are a "necessary evil".  But seriously . . . . adding this sticker to your car . . . .

well.

it. still. makes. it. a. mini-van.

Anything you'd like me to "remind YOU" of today?

Happy Haboob Wednesday!  [what? you know YOU like saying it too.]

i saw that on the news today...thought the same thing, thats either the end of the world or one heck of a sand storm. YIKES!

remind me why its awesome to run on a treadmill??!! i endured 3 whole freakin miles today and thought of you at least 44 times, wondering "how the heck does she do it?, must be her super human power!"

I so thought of you last night when I saw that evil cloud moving into Phoenix. Glad it wasn't 24 hour treadmill day!

Remind me why there are no good movies on DVD. Cannot find a thing. Suggestions? Summer TV sucks.

I saw that dust storm thing on the news yesterday, and was thinking to myself - I think EMZ lives in Phoenix, I hope she is okay! That looks straight out of a science fiction movie! Deep Impact here we come! haha

What mission is your nephew going to? I served in the California Long Beach mission. Very cool!

Crazy dust storm!!

That dirt is crazy, but those temps on your phone scare me more!!!

Mom-mobiles. That's what we call minivans. I swear I will never drive one! :)

Happy Wednesday!!!

I'm with Colleen. How do you cope with such ridiculous temperatures? And that dust storm looked pretty impressive. All you need now is a bit of rain and you'll be able to make some awesome mud pies.

Allison said...

Apparently a wall 'o dust somewhat hit Yuma with 45-50 mph winds, but I slept right through it. Dang!

I'm right there with you on the ridiculous temperatures. This morning at 5:00 am it was almost 80 degrees with 80% humidity. What the what?!?!

I have a mini-van with a sticker on the back that says, "I will *never* drive a mini-van." It's from iusedtobecool.com. HA!

I heard that song for the first time today! How apropos! So, how does one clean all that dirt out of the pool? Hope you have an amazing pool boy ;)

Saw the dust cloud on the news and was wondering if you guys were out playing in it (-:

Mini-vans suck. Great idea mini-van inventor - a big ass vehicle that is filled with distractions on the inside. That is going to end well. When on my bike I move off the road when I see a minivan. When running on the sidewalk I move to the grass when I see a minivan approaching. A minivan killed one of my dogs. But as you can see I am fine with minivans!

That dust storm is absolutely CRAZY

Not EVERYone who drives a minivan is a dipshit. I am just waiting for that minivan grand prix to be created.

That dirt is some crazy biz... two houses for sale here in The Compound... you could run in an outside environment that is just like a treadmill... loop after loop after loop after loop... but outside and with me :) LOL

Saw that awful cloud on the news and immediately thought of you. (i) Hoped you wear inside with the shutters locked, (ii) then realized you were probably on your TM anyway. ;)

Remind me why I keep setting the TM at 15% incline? Please...

Matty O said...

That picture was pretty dang awesome! I guess that explains the pool then huh? Didn't think you would have gotten those dust storms in "civilization" !

Yes, typically the watch needs to know WHEN you want to START recording your DATA! :)

Another note... make sure you hit the STOP button when you are done.

OK, thats it :) Resume running!

Christi said...

That is a crazy storm!

Emz said...

MO. Ummm. Ya. Thanks man.

XLMIC. Compound running it is!!! Btw I'm sure your MV is BA!

SGR - 15% you are killing me!!

Jess @ Blonde Ponytail said...

Oh eeek! The wall-o-dirt looks icky. Bleh.

So does the stick cancel out the mini-vaness?! ha ha!!

Boy, this post was hard to read! Thanks for being there at the airport yesterday . . . I am such a proud mom, but right now it hurts to breathe still.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he is wearing one of the ties that you bought him . . . with a stain already on it. :) That's my boy!
Love you!

Can you remind me why I live in England? Summer doesn't exist here.

runnerwannabe said...

That is some wall of dirt! Yucky! I hope my girls serve on a mission one day! :) I'm sure it will be hard to be away from him for the mom, but he will touch so many lives!

On the mini van, ok, I have one. So ashamed! LOL, jk, I have 5 kids, a mini van is kind of a necessity. I'm just glad I didn't have to resort to a 15 passenger!

Caratunk Girl said...

HOLY CRAP!! That is crazy!

I have been in a sandstorm once (mini compared to yours I think), I was in the belly of the Grand Canyon and suddenly this wall of sand just came, it was nuts. I had sand in my eyeballs.

I'm glad I'm not a pool maintenance worker in Az this week.

And they just don't make Garmins like they used to. So sad.

Ironman By Thirty said...

If anyone is going Up, it is definitely you.

Triple digits each day??? Yikes!

My wife refuses to ever drive a minivan. Period.

misszippy said...

'Cause in the winter, when we're freezing our asses off, you are living in paradise. I'd trade you, seriously!

Sarah said...

Hahahahaha!!!! Yes, it is still a minivan.

You know, I never heard the word "haboob" until a couple days ago. Doesn't sound like a real word, but I'm going to use it in at least a few sentences today. And did you know that we don't get haboobs in Seattle?
