moder-what?

Come on, say it with me . . moder·ation.

moderation

Meaning:

1. the state or an instance of being moderate; mildness; balance

2. the act of moderating

in moderation within moderate or reasonable limits

What the heck does that mean?!

I'll admit I have a few tragic flaws . . yep, this is one of them.  Well, one of many.  Like:

Christmas card sending.
Calling people. [with my 6,124 rollover minutes]
Keeping track of my nieces/nephews birthday's [19 in all]
Being reactive
[insert 44 others]
okay, that's enough of that.

Bring on the quotes.

“Never go to excess, but let moderation be your guide.” --- Marcus Tullius Cicero

“Whatever you do, do it in moderation --- Proverb

"Moderation is the center wherein all philosophies, both human and divine, meet.” --- Benjamin Disraeli

However, I'm thinking Horace Porter has me figured out. . .

"Be moderate in everything, including moderation."

Bring on Oregon!

Let the training [that never stops] begin again!!

Any other moderation phobes out there?

I run moderately fast. Um, I mean moderately slow. Maybe I just run moderately...

Ha! I like that last quote.

I also struggle with moderation... I've always been an ALL or NOTHING kind of girl.

I rule at moderation. I hate half of a Ben and Jerry's last night instead of the whole thing. :P

"moderation" is just a nice word for "half-assed."

It's a good idea and all, but it's more fun to go overboard.

Why be moderate when you can go for the gusto and bust your ass, a bone or something else?

I've never been good at moderation. I think it's been a hindrance and a help through out my life. I am learning to moderate somethings as I age.

I am only able to moderate how often I use moderation. :p seriously, I swear everything is over the top with me. Oh well. at least I'm consistent. :D

The ancient Greek temple at Delphi allegedly had three maxims carved into it:

"know thyself"

"nothing in excess" and

"make a pledge and mischief is nigh"

I'm not good in moderation, I tend to overindulge in everything but I really DO want to moderate my running, my eating... Thanks :).

Never been much for moderation. I like this quote: "Excess on occasion is exhilarating. It prevents moderation from acquiring the deadening effect of a habit.

"You can judge a person by what they take two at a time, stairs or pills." Hows that for moderation, push push push!

Moderation can get a little boring...but, excess can hurt! I suggest we moderately exceed ;)

Trying to add moderation in running is a better thing to have than say, cheetos or daquiries.

It's always a bit sad to see that I have that many rollover minutes - I never call anyone!

Unfortunately, moderation is not my strong point...

You write about not liking moderation and follow my blog in the same day. Coincidence?

Anything worth doing is worth doing until you get tasered or eaten.
