"Pumped Up Kicks" - Foster the People

One photo can explain so very much . . . . .

To me it says . . . . .

* It was a blast.
* Best weekend away with the Pita - e v e r
* I love MY RunEmz shirt.  Ya, I have one - I may even have two! ;) I'm sooooooooooo ok with self promoting if it has anything to do with REV RUN. [Yep, for you Dawn]

* I can get myself out of a bad mood in 28.4 minutes flat.

and
that
this photo shows . . . .

About how fast I ran this marathon.  A almost 9 minute NON-PR.

* I still love you Seattle.

A ton more to come tomorrow.

Ever had a race that left you feeling like  . . . . .WHAT THE FREAKING HECK?!

Hmmm there is a trend going around...I've seen many "not a PR, but I don't care bc Seattle is awesome" posts. Some races are just like that. Yayy for good weekends :)

Ha! So many races like that... this weekend's virtual race, in fact :P But anything that is part of "a blast" and "best weekend away with the Pita-ever" is redeemed... not matter how "what the freaking heck" it was in and of itself :) Glad you enjoyed Seattle!

The one you just ran... last year. Time? 5:16:28. Started the race by popping a few aspirin and slapping on a knee brace and calf sleeves for good measure. I made it to the Aurora Bridge when I had to go to the bathroom, which was difficult to find. Turnaround.... was sad. Lady kept yelling "This is the LAST hill" at me while on the bridge, and I kept thinking "Lady, do you LIVE in Seattle? This is only mile 17." ....And then mile 23 happened. Where you can see the 26 mile marker, but you still have a 1.5 mile out and back to do. Ugh.

You would think that they would change the course after so many people have complained about that.

That being said. Another marathon under your belt! That's amazing. You have to step back from all the crazy, amazing running stuff you've been doing and recognize that what seems "normal" to you, what seems "slow" to you are things that the majority of people cannot do. Be proud! :)

I love my RunEmz shirt too. And I love, love, love Peanut's take on it in her post! Too funny.

Can't wait to hear more. And when you look back, it won't be the non-PR that you remember.

We were driving to the zoo when I saw a bunch of people running on I-90. So fun to see and wondered if you were in that group. Then I figured you were probably with the people who were way ahead. :-D

Booh on the non-PR. :( Yay on having a blast anyway!

As for the 'What the freaking heck': had that when I looked at my watch when crossing the finish line of this May's Edinburgh Marathon. :)

Pumped Up Kicks - one rockin's song!

I used to have a RUN EMZ shirt. Until my wife stole it...

Not to worry, I am going to make one with a wicking shirt (Running Banana dot com)

From the photo it's clear that al lthe statues are forefoot strikers while you're flatfooted, might explain the lack of PR. Of course, if statues are staying ahead of you, you might just be really slow.

I HATE being a day late to a past...what the freaking heck?

28 min to get over a race is a new PR I believe. And 9 min over on that super hilly course is AMAZING. You rock lady.

I know you had a blast...I was just a tiny bit jealous I wasn't there. 

Preach on, Rev.

LOVE that photo. Quite perfect.
