"Thank You" - Jay-Z

Grateful. [doesn't begin to cover it]

Thank you.

Yesterday turned out being pretty freaking great.

Went to pick up Peanut.  We made eye contact.

and
she
started
running.

running to me, in my car.

P:  mom.  mom.  I got 1st place in the 200!
Me: [of course you freaking did, and I didn't get to see it] No way!  You rock kid!
P: it was fun!
Me:  awesome!  I can't believe you got 1st place!!
P:  Yep, first place out of three kids!

c l a s s i c .

That's my girl.

Fast forward. . . .The Pita had a basketball game. . . .fast forward . . .

In-N-Out [burger] Thursday!

yes.
every
Thursday.

Fast Forward . . . home.. . . .fast forward . . .

Pita: have your phone? Let me check something on your phone.
Me: you. bet. cha.
Pita: ummm, why is there a photo of a  .45 on your blog today?
[he reads . . . 64 people commented on THAT?]
Me: [glowing/happy/in awe] I know, right?!  They rock.
Pita: seriously.  People listen to you moan and complain and gripe then build you up?  I didn't even know you were having a bad day!

[he pauses]

Pita:  Do you have their addresses?
Me:  Well, I may have a few on my phone due to RUN EMZ shirts.
Pita:  Should I send cash or checks?

loved. it.
we went on to talk for a few minutes about this.

words/thoughts I remember:

* cheaper than therapy.
* amazing
* supportive
* hand holding
* one crazy understands another
* endurance athletes = a whole other breed
* you should copy/print that
* lucky/blessed

Awesome.

Fast Forward . . . . this morning . . . .

I'm finally ready to show off this:

you bet cha.

My price I paid for wearing 4.5" heels around Vegas for 2 days.

Only on my right foot.  Weird.

So. worth. it.

Well until my marathon this Sunday.  ouch.

Fast Forward . . . 5 minutes before school drop off.

Peanut:  Mom.  I like this dress. [one I'm selling] try it on.
Me: Ya, I like it.  okay, I'll try it.
Peanut: The arm holes are too big.
Me:  only as to accommodate my huge guns.
Peanut:  whatever. My muscles are bigger.
Me:  [uhhhh huuuuuuhh whaaaa?] let's have a contest!

{I know, right who has a bicep contest with their 10.5 year old? ----- me!!!!}

Soooooo.  who.  won?

You. pick.

But you better hurry.

Guess who just got invited to watch the last 1/2 day of Field Day?

Yep.  Me.

Who cares if it's from  my car?
I've got a great zoom lens for my camera.

Congrats to your girl - that's awesome!

Love the shoes, hey you're lucky, your heels gave you a little bruise - my high heels that I tried to rock in Los Angeles made me fall down and sprain my ankle - excellent. (Well it was probably more the cocktails than the shoes… but still.)

xo

Yay Peanut, and Yay for heels. At first I thought you got a tattoo.

Tell Pita that's what Blends are for. (I didn't even know this was a term until a few days ago. Blog + Friend = Blend. Hmm.)

Good job Peannut!!! and see there is hope after all!!! you know maybe it is a bit of pressure for her to run in front of her rock star runner mom...even if you don't put any pressure on her she may put it on herself..my kid does that for school. all the best for your marathon this weekend!

I wish I could get my hubbs to read this. Your husband's response to the support you get from blogging is awesome. My hubbs = jealous of blogging. Hummmm. But that's a whole other topic.

This post simply made me feel happy for you. This day was filled with happiness. I'm gonna borrow some of it and carry it with me this weekend. Thanks!

When I was little my dad would have arm length contests with me. He would tell me that MY arms were longer. I would protest, but he's tell me he could prove it. We'd stand next too each other, and he'd say "see, your arms hang lower, which means they're longer." As a wee lass I knew he was wrong, but didn't know why.

I agree with Jen--your arms match your abs--so envious. When are you modeling for Athleta? Seriously. Look a those girls, then look in a mirror. Ditto.

Field day from your car-ha! I secretly watched my daughter run the mile for gym class from the press box above the track:) She may or may not have heard me shouting over the loudspeaker....

Yeah-don't even mention shoes and scars. I'm only 5'8 so I need 4 inch heels because my husband is 5'10......They are worth every blemish.

Good luck this weekend! This is really a great blog! I get way behind reading blogs sometimes but when I catch up, I always smile when I read yours!

I was you- 30 years ago.

I guess I have been under a rock.

Whiskey Row! Circa 1981- My best marathon-led in first until the last mile. then cramped up and placed 3rd-but I STILL love that marathon!

Keep it up...and you too can still be running (marathons) when you are 60...

Well, it appears as though she is cheating by putting her arm on a chair or something? ;)
