Funky Cold Medina

Might as well get this over with, first.

We stayed at a "Hilton".  Like a Paris "Hilton".  I am ashamed Jomoosh and it'll never happen again.

They had quite the "Labor Day" pool party going on there.  Where the DJ reminded me how much I heart "Funky Cold Medina".  [Ahhhhh, college/high school...don't remember].

My favorite song [I have never heard before] was "Cupid Shuffle".  It's annoying as crap but this guy . . . .

.......every time they played it [four times] he'd get up and shake it.  I was crying with laughter.  He was awesome.

**So the Pita found/read/loved/examined my blog Thursday night........[in detail].  So the four photos I had of him flipping me [and or] the camera off . . . . he deleted.  So-so-so sad.  Isn't this censorship Can I call the police?**

I managed to save a few.  heeee heee heeee [in my evil voice].

Got this from Rad Runner ----- Peanut thinks you walk on water.  I told her you do.  So now you are a super hero too.

Not sure why she came out [photo] looking umpa loompa colored?!

So the rest I'll explain in numbers:

3 - hours it took to get to Mount Lemon to hike.
2 -# of potty stops while driving.
2 -# of times I used "nature" rather than the "toilets" that were being offered. so gross.
5 -# of times I realized, Arizona really can be pretty.

6 -# of miles we planned to hike.
1 -# of shoes Peanut brought.
1 -# of shoes that were two sizes to small
0 -# of socks Peanut brought.
44 -# of times she said she was "sorry".
0 -% chance I'll let her pack again without checking the "goods"
1 -# of times she said "this waaa-taaaahh says, energy an it's not giving me any"
1 -# of family photos I managed to not get deleted. [yay me]

1 -# of kids who'd think to pose with their hand under their chin for a hiking photo.
28 -# of minutes it took before Peanut needed Moleskin applied to each heel.
3 -# of times she said my "beaver skin" isn't working.  [cracked me up - it's the little things right?!]
100 -% more we had to pay for a room in Tucson than we usually do.
100 -% happy we were that the Pita booked it anyway.
7 -# of photos Peanut took when we thought she hadn't even taken one.

14 -# of times I was asked, "you're going to blog about this aren't you?" ummmm, yep.
3 -# of miles we completed.
3 -# of crepes had in a 24 hour period.  yum. "Planet of the crepes".....nice.
8 -# of sunset photos I took.  This is my fav.

4 -# of ice cream cones I ate.  It's LABOR DAY!!  COME ON!!
20 -# of miles I ran Monday.

35 -# it felt like I ran.
99 -% sure that I am not 100% better.  Energy is not there.
11 - days until my Top Of Utah Marathon.
10 - days until I get a bloggy meet-up with Kera in Salt Lake City.
0 -# of marathons I've run without Peanut being at the finish line to greet me.

I don't think I like this "first" very much.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

AND

A huge thank you to the replies to Peanut on her post.

Her. year. made.   She was/is so happy.

I would just like to say that I am a Paris Hilton fan and think you should reevaluate ur opinion of her. She is a smart girl, read her books lots of GREAT advice there.

Kelly-I think you've been in the UK for too long.....the lack of clothing dryers must have altered your thinking on PHilton]. Unless I can get on the Paris hilton is my BFF show. hmmmmm, there's an idea.

BK - Agreed. This is TMI EMZ. Censor---what?!

Matty-O - I knew that was you. I saw him running 5 minute miles in between each beer.

We went hiking over the weekend too. My daughter brought a friend. Both girls brough flip-flops only! Luckily I had put shoes in the car and had extra socks. Grrr, kids!

Oh and ice cream. Duh, holiday weekend!

I can't wait for your marathon. Top of Utah sounds so fun!

Report from the dog sitter during the Labor Day adventure for Emz and family by the numbers:

15 -- # of M&M's Chuy consumed from our trip stash
4 -- # of times we checked on "ask me" to see if said dog was going to survive
5 -- # of text's to see of we were still friends with Emz's family
4 -- # of times Chuy lost his cookies (M&M's) after said indulgence
1 -- #of gratitude prayer that Chuy is alive and well

Here's hoping we still get a chance to take care of our "time-share" dog.

Glad your trip was so great. Sorry if we interrupted it with dog-drama!

ETR-I hope it's ok, I think it was actually 5. [uggg]
Shelly-you are the mom I SHOULD be. ;)
Q-nice but boring comment [for you]. Where's Allie?
Amy-it was -we'll surely remember it. ;)
Teammarcia-so agreed. thank goodness my "only" is my "peanut", ;)
Rae - I must "see" you do the CS!!

KARINE [MOM]: SO funny, I had those [kinda like those] posted then, I worried you'd think it was a complaint. My only complaint is that he was there when I came to get him. [kinda kidding]

1 -# of M&M's I "planted" on my parents floor - to try and kill off my dog.

Maybe I’m still bitter from the whole WAA-TAH fiasco.

Nature is way better than toilets. Do dark hole full of ?????

I'll take beaver skin over moleskin anyday of the week.

Awww--your last one is great. And Arizona is beautiful...what a great hike for you guys!

Emz said...

MR - I can't wait. Did it 10 years ago. Better kill my 10 years ago time!! ;)

Q-you'll be bitter over the belt giveaway too. plan on it.

SU&R - I told the Pita on potty stop #2. SU&R would be so proud.

BDD-hilarious. True. True. I saw probably 40 bikers on the way up [road] - they were fit [crazy fit]. I said, "who would do that [bike up?". They I thought, oh BDD, Jeff, Carat.Girl, Aimee, Partick, etc..... you'd love it.

MissZ - esp in the WINTER! ;)

So hiking in Arizona doesn't automatically lead to death? In which months is it the coolest? I passed through with the AC on full blast years ago afraid for my life.

;-D

Love the family photo. And sometimes my family flips me the bird when I take their picture too.

Jill said...

Well of course you had to pay 100% more for the Hilton...it'll help bail her butt out of jail! Glad you had a great hiking weekend :).

Emz said...

Sarah- that's for making me feel better about the bird sightings.
Jill - love that comment. Lindsay Lohan doesn't own any hotels, right?!

You can come over to my blog and post a pic of Pita flipping you off and he'll be none the wiser, LOL. Also, Peanut makes jaundice look good.

Aww...I remember Mt. Lemon! We used to drive all the way to the top to that little town and feast on delicious pie after hiking! Yum!
Love the pictures!

So the PITA censors photos but not beaver skin comments. Hmmm.. You're not back up to form but you ran 20.5 miles. Hot Damn.

Cupid Shuffle is played a lot where i am from, but men never dance to it. That's funny.

I still have no idea how you log those kinds of miles on the treadmill. Amazing.
