"For The First Time" - The Script

okay, so it's not the "first" review I've ever done. [This is my third.]

Truth be told - I'm not a huge "review" fan.  I only review an item[s] if I think it's something I'll love.

And

These goodies from 26.2 performance apparel ...... did. NOT. disappoint.

I received:

* performance sock
* short sleeve 26.2 road wrap running performance tee
* 26.2 Classic II running short

Let me first tell you I have run in my Thorlo walker/runner crew socks since 1999.  No joke.  Yes, the ones that are about 1/2" thick.  I've been too freaked out to try anything else.  They work.  Why mess with "works", right?

W r o n g.

So. freaking. glad. I did.

These. socks. rock.

It was like being 14 all over again.  When you find out you don't have to wear granny undies and you buy your first thong.

Completely. liberating. [hmmm, weird,  maybe that was just me?!]

Now.

the.
photos.

Peanut greatly dislikes taking photos for my blog [not totally sure why - but she did a great job, given the canvas].

Her only request, "one photo has to be silly" . . . [like that would EVER be a problem . . . . so she picked this one].

yikes.

It was pretty freaking early, so I appreciate it Peanut!

And be nice on the photos [I. AM. NOT a make-up wearing runner].

Firing up "Ed".

The shorts. . . . . a lot like the Nike Tempo shorts I own 4 or 14 of.  What I like better about these . . . . . the leg openings.  I'm not a fan of the leg slit up to the waist band on soooooo many of the running shorts made today but I have sometimes wished the tempo shorts were "roomier" . . . . wish granted.

These were fabulous.

SO here's the "first time" part.

I've never done a run [over 6 miles] in a shirt.  I don't like hate things swooshing on my midsection.  I've always been this way.  Nothing new.  You should have seen me running 8 months pregnant.

but
this
shirt
is
UNlike
any
tech
shirt
I
have
ever
worn.

It feels like silky velvet but just as [if not more] breathable as all my other "tech tops".  Seriously, I could touch this shirt all day long.  It's amazing.

And guess what?

I. wore. it. all. 12. freaking. miles. and. loved. it.

So
what
are
you
waiting
for?

Check them out! [here]
And here's a promo/discount code for when you are checking out.

[ discount code 262SAVE ] 5%

Did you do anything for the "first time" today or over the weekend?

please
spill.

You are gorgeous and embody my vision of a "runner"!

I channeled you AGAIN for my treadmill run this weekend, wearing your t-shirt prior too! I just love it so much, I almost don't want to sweat in it!

Jan[et] Cicelia said...

Gotta say I've been using you as inspiration on the treadmill as well. Just a measly 3 miles Saturday, but I kicked the last one with "Just keep running" and "I've got this" (sorry, the 'freakin' part doesn't fit my cadence!) and ended with my fastest 3 mile pace to date.

Emz said...

jess. too. nice.

Shebajc. love. that. you can re-apply "freaking" as it fits. ;)

First off, DO YOU EAT?! My goodness you look skinnier than the somalians on my TV screen behind Sally Struthers!

Did I spy some Brooks Ghost kicks in one of those pics :)

HAHA, I think I "get" you because come 60 degrees, you got me, shorts, shoes... and my garmin 310XT. Shirts SUCK. ( I know you were lying in your post, once a shirtless runner, always a shirtless runner ).

Right on for Peanut being a future photographer :)

I will also confess... I do own shorts with a slit up the thigh. I actually REALLY like them. Let me tell YOU about liberating :)

H does NOT do scorpions... OR snakes... believe me, I have tossed enough of them I have found in our yard at her haha.

PS - Drop your shoulders a bit. :p

My firsts for the weekend:

Running my mom's first 5k with her
Running in a tutu and tiara

Best. Firsts. Ever.

The clothes look uber comfy though. I'll have to check them out.

Happy Monday :)

Checked out the shirts - they look cool, but no bright colors. A must have for goobers like me who often run before sunrise.

This stuff looks great but I fear the shipping/duty charges to Canada.
You are the treadmill queen...seriously..

Unknown said...

You look great on that treadmill! I think you should model for them. You are the perfect woman to appear in their catalogue. How have they not contacted you already?

Your set up is supreme! The treadmill right in front of the flatscreen. That is awesome! Can I visit, just so I can run on your treadmill and try on all of your shoes? Oh, and because I want to meet Peanut (and you, duh!)

Ann/Rob said...

I want to wear that--although I'm sure I won't look that good! (But it looks SO comfortable, and that's what matters to me these days!!)

...I'm learning how to blog. :)

bobbi said...

Love those SOCKS!! And the shirt sounds divine...

Tell peanut she takes GREAT pictures :)

I managed 7 miles (in a row) that felt EASY. YAY!

Nelly said...

If I looked up "runner" in the dictionary, I would see a picture of you, Ryan Hall and Deena Kastor, haha You embody the perfect runner body type - big engine with a small frame =) Is your body fat % like 4%?

this weekend I actually did do something new - I did a run that I've never done before, and also did the most hills I've ever done on a run before - 1424 feet of elevation gain/loss, and also experienced the runners high. An amazing running weekend. =)

LB said...

you are a treadmill BEAST!!!!

i wore my super sext trisuit (sorry no pics!) for the first time this weekend. it didnt disappoint, i may have looked like a tool, but no awkward constant pulling down of the shirt!

Michelle said...

You make that shirt sound like heaven - may have to check them out!

First time thing? I raced a 10k in the snow on Sunday!

Katie said...

i am drooling over this running gear. drool.

Teamarcia said...

A shirt on the mill is tough--that must be a great one!
New for me this weekend? A gaggle of girls slept over this weekend--THing 1's friends--it went way better than I could ever have imagined.

Jill said...

First for me??? Well, 1)I WON my age group for the DU series I just finsihed up...hysterical considering I hate riding a bike and 2) I'm wearing a boot on my foot for the first time. YAY me!!

I think I'd much rather be wearing that shirt running on the treadmill but instead, I get to spend my $ on a ton a diagnostic tests tomorrow. A reason why I have the new pic on my blog (thanks for your nice comment) - b/c it reminds me of happier times.

You look stunning!! I have those Brooks Ghosts shoes, too...one day I hope to wear them in a race with ya!! :)

Unknown said...

you need to be their spokes model! You wear it well girl! You must have shaved your legs for that!
;)

I'm stick stuck on "i'm not a makeup wearing runner".

Who wears makeup when they run?! Thats nuts

Emz said...

Lindsay. Hilarious. For. Sure!

MelBird. You'd. Be. Sadly. Surprised.

Amanda@runninghood said...

Looking hot in those shorts and shirt! And those socks...I need socks! So weird to see you running with your stomach covered. What has the world come to?! :)
first time in a long time for my hubs and I to go on a long run (13) alone without the strollers....Just he and I! We even got some 7:15 miles in there and felt strong and happy and got to catch up and have a normal conversation without interruptions. :)

Julie D. said...

Love it! you look like a rockstar in your new duds. If their clothes made me look like that...I'm sold! I got one of their shirts a couple weeks ago that was on sale but not the 'sorbtek' fabric. I think I'm going to have to get the real deal. They sound amazing. Socks look great too! great run!!

Jim ... 50after40 said...

Ah yes, the day I bought my first thong! Viva la running weenies!

Molly said...

I love your actions photos!! So cute. Great shirt.

This weekend I went to a bonfire in the middle of the snow, then watched fireworks. coolio.

RockStarTri said...

Luckily I know my limitations. I'm still waiting for the right thong to be my first.

KC (my 140 point 6 mile journey) said...

um...i think they should hire you as their official spokesperson/model!!!! cool gear for sure!

Gracie said...

I'm not a make-up runner, either, but I don't look as pretty as you do! Love the pictures. I am tempted to try this stuff out; everyone has positive things to say about it.

First time? How about running in snow in sunny Orange County CA. It rocked! Nice socks btw.

Dani- danielleislosingit said...

This weekend I uploaded my first video onto my new youtube channel!!!! You can check it out at my blog if you want:)

Other than that, I'd like to say my first thong was a less than liberating experience, but I'll still try those socks cause they look awesome:)

And the entire reason I clicked on you blog in the first place was I saw your abs and wanted them. You have have great abs. Congrats.

Adrienne said...

Something new this weekend. Travis and I hit up the Nascar Race at the PIR. Getting our redneck on. Pretty sweet. I'm guessing you look great in all your pictures but I can't tell since my computer is currently jacked up. I'll check back when it's fixed. Urggggg.

I think I need that shirt! You are so cute! And peanut did a great job with the pictures!

Petraruns said...

the shirt is great but if I had your abs I would NEVER EVER wear a shirt.

The shorts are great though - look really nice. I like that they're not some nasty "girlie" colour. VV nice.

Jason said...

A picture of your feet and they are not in heels. I just fell over.....what is going on with this site? Let me check the URL to make sure I'm at the EMZ site.

Yup it is but something is sadly wrong.
