but
then
I
saw
these photos
below the one I was searching for.
And I could not.
stop.
laughing.
I think Grandpa A - "likes it".
Look at that grin.
57 years and they still had the heat!
I miss my G-ma/pa A.
Peanut misses her "Grandma Great" - every time she is in trouble or I/we/anyone makes her cry.
Me: "Why are you crying [ok, fine, insert . . .sweet muffin cakes, honey, sweet pea at the end]?"
Peanut: I miss Grandma Great.
Me: I know kid. I miss her too.
Peanut: Oh and here's my math test from last week.
In all fairness, she did have a one of a kind relationship with her Grandma Great. But I'm

First? Is that possible?
Wow... how in the flipping world did that happen?!
At first I thought your Grandpa was smackin his wife's rear end until I saw the blow up pick that he was holding a balloon that she was trying to bust in his lap hahaha.
I also initially thought that these retirement homes appear to spark that love connection again for these folks :)
Good luck running from your mama peanut, we all know she can last at LEAST 50 miles :)
MO-well you beat me. I didn't even notice the balloon. NO joke. [ya, probably should have kept that to myself]. .... when you[I mean others] get old they sit on those weird donut/padded things . . . that's what I thought it was.
Apparently, my g-ma A's bum wasn't heavy enough to take the blow. Everyone else seems to have popped theirs?! hilarious.
Only 42 more years to go and Ken and I can play the balloon game.
Very sweet. I hope we still have the heat.
What a funny photo. Great to remember your family as happy fun loving people...and know that they passed those traits along! :-)
...I mean the happiness not the horny-ness...well I guess I don't know about that. heeheehee
and I quote "Apparently, my g-ma A's bum wasn't heavy enough to take the blow."
I am leaving it at that. Nothing more needs to be stated. You said it... NOT ME!
Oh that is so sweet!!! That is hilarious about your daughter too!
Huh. I could take this a few ways, of course. But I won't. In the proper context it's nice to see the pure love and affection.
PS G-Star? I know people.
Patrick - you have jean people? Maybe my shoe people could hook up with your [g-star]jean people?!
I've got t-shirt people. Oh & thanks for taking the high road on this one. [heaven knows kovas won't].
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I — I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
PS Your tshirt people suck, because mine has yet to arrive.
"Grandma Great"... that is too sweet. I am lucky to have my G-ma but I miss Grandpa like crazy.
That photo rocks my socks!
Kovas - Robert Frost called ---- he has your shirt.
What a great photo to have!!
Well, I'm sure he'll be faster than you. Him and Jack Frost both.
Maybe even Sadie Frost.
kovas - merry christmas to you too Sloooooooooooow going, Frosty!
PPS The day I get my shirt is the day I send you your gilt embossed invitation to the race.
How's that for slow-moving?
emz and kovas should have their own morning radio drive time show.
Slowmo - love it. as long as it's via phone. I'd kill him if I had to work in the same room as "him".
That's hilarious.
I think the grandparents are an example to us all, but look at the couple next to them.
Those are two people who love to pop balloons in each other's laps....just look at how they gaze into each other's eyes knowing they are the balloon popping champs.
Jason - too funny. I think the American Flag top she's wearing COULD NOT have hurt her chances at blowing things up.
Oh so that's a balloon? I was thinking it was a wheel of cheese.
My mother-in-law is a great grandmother (4 times over) and she's 74 years old!
When I get antsy I play "hide the ..." with her too ... usually hide the dentures or hide the glasses.
The best is hide the remote. She starts cleaning the house at 10 pm to watch he favorite shows!
the kids and grand kids like her - who am I to argue - I'm a follower.
Hahaha...SUAR...you'e have the 'heat'...it's the baloons you'll have to worry about.
Loved this feel-good post. thanks.
Great pic!
and I hope my dots all have the same concern if and when they hand me a test or grade they are worried about. I start creating some fear! haha
D
I had a Grandma like that. She was the one who told me I was clever and beautiful and was a great mother and amazing wife. When she died I bought a locket which I wear all the time in her memory.
Char - I love that. So awesome.
I, too, miss Peanut's Grandma Great. Just think...this summer you get to celebrate with all the remaining "H" family members at a reunion. I hope I am in charge of games. You have given me a good idea---baloon busting it is!!!
NO. Mom. I am
not.
balloon.
busting.
Just say "No" to "H" games!!
Hey wait . . . let's use watermelons!! It appears the girl gets to sit so . . . . I'm all for it.
I love your posts and the comments are always great too. If you and Kovas ever get that radio show I'd listen every day...
So sweet :)
It reminds me of that (country) song - "All because two people fell in love".
That's why you and peanut are here - because of your grandparents and their balloon popping :)
Karen - love it. So true. Balloons are big in my family, I guess. ;) creepy. A little.
Laurie - he'd be dead in 2.4 minutes.
Oh those pictures are classic! Makes me miss my grandma. When I see pictures like this and think of my Afton, I can't wait to be the grandma that everyone loves. :)
That is freaking awesome.
That is just sweet! Aww!
Yep, your gramma's got it baby and she may as well make grampa happy with it!!!!
Hell, I'm impressed with Grandpa...He's the man as far as I can see. Likes what he sees, sees what he likes, and has a plan (balloon and all)!!
Did g-ma have to put her skirt up so high?? Hilarious!
Aww. What a sweet post. Poor Peanut. :(
I think the amount of love you have in your family is so beautiful! :) You glow with love and I can feel it in your posts.
Dying. those pictures are the best.
