Bragging rights

So today was "long run" day.

I headed to the fridge for more water and I heard, "no, stop don't look!"  So of course, I did.  And saw this:

"Mom, you done yet?  You've been on there f o r e v e r .  I made you a post-run snack."  She wasn't joking.  It was sumthin' else. ;)

So I finished this.

[Ya, not sure how that'll work out with tonight's activities, ehhh, whatever.]

Then, it gets better, she fills up the bathtub for me [ice-ice baby], lights candles and brings me my "creation" [oh AND a bottle of water with --- get this --- a silly straw]  Awesome.

I know I was hungry, but this actually tasted good.  Yep, even with the sugar!

Just in case you want the recipe . . . ;)
Thanks Peanut!

I can't just comment on one thing, I loved everything about this post!

The celery is so finely sliced - it looks like worms at first glance!

The worms crawl in; the worms crawl out...

Ya. Thx mr moosh. Took her about as long to cut up everything as my run took me. It was yummy. Worms and all.

Somewhere I've gone terribly wrong in convincing my kids to help me out post-run. Very jealous. My daughter mostly just recoils from the sweat pouring off me and tells me how bad I smell. Not that she's wrong ... but not terribly helpful.

That is so cute :) So glad you took a picture of the recipe for keepsake. What a sweetie.

P.S. Good job on your run! Wahoo!

Aww that is so cute! What a great cheerleader.

And everytime I see another picture of your treadmill with a number that begins with "20" a little bit of me dies inside. I'll never be as awesome as you. But I'm okay with that. :]

Oh my - I'm commenting challenged today. I just wanted to edit what I said because I looked like a fool - but then it deleted it entirely and said so...So, this is what I had to say (minus the inane observation!)
First of all - holy cow, nice long run! And second - what an awesome salad. I've got two girls myself - youngest likes to climb in the cold bath with me during the summer. I think I'll have to recruit them to make some post run treats!

Oh my gosh!! 20 on a treadmill..that's amazing. I'll totally be thinking of you when I have my 16 in the morning. If you can do 20 on a TM, I can somehow manage to do my 16 outside. I love the idea of sugar. I am definately going to try that on my salad tomorrow.

What a great post! The recipe is classic, especially the "toemaytoes" and "a lot" measurements. What a sweetie.

Also, way to go with 20 on the mill, I did 6 once and that was too much!

TOO cute!! I especially loved the recipe. ToeMayToe... that IS how it should be spelled anyway.

Way to crank on the run. Do you do 20 milers every week?

Kenley said...

Wow, you have got a Kick @$$ training coach with you. Coach Peanut! Congrats on the run, and I will have to try that recipe out.

Haha, I also thought the celery was worms at first. That would have been super funny if they were...well, funny for us, you not so much. :)

Your post reminds me of being a kid and trying to cook breakfast for Mom on her birthday, or Mother's day. Makes me wonder just how awful our attempts where, and I wonder about her enduring all those attempts at "treating her" Your daughter seems to have gotten it right! :) So sweet of her.

Petraruns said...

oh man I can't go away for a few days without LOTS of updates from you girl - what a gorgeous salad what a sweet peanut and just how many 20 milers do you run?
