Great video!!! Who wouldn't tear up at that?!

so bright smiles at 25.2 and 'is that it?' at mile 100????

I will say that yesterday's smile forced me to smile throughout my interval training this morning. Practicing for the mary on 12/5 to smile the entire way.

Emz said...

Jason. It was just the 50.
100 is next year!! Yay for smiling mary's!! ;)

This is why your fun! and the Rockstar you are!

Couple things:

First, very cool you have that video!

Second, whose dogs were those? They need a bath.

Third, nice finish line. when I did my ultra the start/finish line was literally a long piece of electrical tape across the road. They went all out on that sucker!

how wonderful you have this captured on video. and peanut can view them years from now. ;-)

Emz said...

Jeff - that was a good finish line?! Yikes.
The dogs. They smelled death. Or a dirty pickle juice drinker. Nope not mine.

EMZ = EM Zuperwoman! yes you are!

Scott McMurtrey said...

Where you looking a little wobbly there at the end? :)

Emz said...

Scott - I was wondering how Long it'd take for someone to comment on that.

Here are my two reasons....

1. I was flailing my hands around like an idiot. A signature "Emz" move.

2. I had no freaking clue which way the finish line was. Couldn't tell if I was to run to the right of the pole or the left.

Answer to 2. --- the middle once you see there are actually two poles.

First - I LOVE that song by Faith

Second - That video is awesome :) Shows you earned that buckle, baby!

Awesome video. "Is that it?" ... you are too badass for words.

Or, since you're a movie quote master .... "Vasquez .... you're just too bad."

Emz said...

ETR - aliens. One of the four sci-fi movies I've ever seen. Love it.

That should be your trademark. I would love to see you say that at the end of the 100 miler. That is a finish line video that could go viral!

So cool! I like how you jogged off at the end like you were going out for more - crazy!

Kera said...

ahemmmm. this is a very serious comment.

i want you to know that on my runs every day, you are running with me. you are like a little ghost (in front of me obviously) yelling at me to keep going. every time i think about stopping i think of you on mile 47 of that crazy race, and i keep going. sometimes i can't keep going, but i just thought i would tell you that when "let go" comes on, i think of you, and i love the part where it says, "there's beauty in the breakdown". you and your damn abs are the best.

xx

I'm an emotional whimpo, so....you just got me teary eyed. ;)

Matty O said...

Yeah... I would have said the same thing Em. Mainly because there was no fancy timing mat to cross or crazy finisher's chute or anything like that. It seemed like an "anti-climatic" finish to an epic race!!!

Regardless, you got the buckle, thats all you need right? :)

Great job once again. Make a friendly suggestion for them to spruce up the finisher energy next time huh?

Johann said...

That is just special! Really great!

KovasP said...

So inspiring! (I mean, if you can do it...) :)

Emz said...

Kera - your comment has made my day [at 6am]. Day. Made. "let go" is my "go-to" song. Thanks to YOU.

Matty-O --- you get my little brain. Let me rephrase, you understand my little brain.
You nailed it.
Ummm, timing clock?
Chip?
Anything on the ground? Jeff, not even duct tape.
Just a whole lotta rv's, watering holes, digs & sweaty cowboys.

MR - I'm doing it. I'm saying that next year on the 100. Awesome.

Kovas - thanks for being kovas. ;)

Emz said...

While I'm sure there were "digs" there too.......
..... I meant "dogs".

Oh & kera --- did I already mention YOU are awesome?!
You are going to kill that marathon. Oh how I could be there to run with you.....or at least cheer you on in my 5" heels the whole time.

heather said...

Love this. Love you. Every day you inspire me, make me laugh, make me cry. Thanks for being you!
