"Ramble On" - LZ

Ten Things Tuesday

1.  I love high-fives
2.  Six days until I register for this:

3.  The Pita's hands may be big but "J"'s hands are especially tiny.
4.  And her pinkie may be even tinier . . . [yes, I thought it was a little funny]
5.  Miles for today, ehhhh, I'lll take it

6.  Scored a sweet "Ladies Technical Vest" from Barefoot Neil Z's 10*10*10 Virtual race.  Completely awesome
7.  Pita came home with this for me Saturday.  Left me a little confused.

* I tried 74 times to fix it/turn it - I give up.*
[ok, ok, that's not rare but . . ] he said, "I just need to fit the word "running" in there somewhere."  Sorry, can not print/type my reply.......I swear, he even thought it was funny though.

8.  Fun night Saturday night celebrating "S"'s birthday.  Yes, the guy behind us to the left [wait was that Kovas?!] was super creepy.

[ummm, ya, just realized I photo shopped him out - wise move by me.]
9.  Why is [most] everyone waiting until 2012 to do Boston?!  Just curious.  Well, I'm not - so take that --- all eleven zero people that care.

10.  Reason # 812 that a ten year old should not have a cell phone.

Your mom is the only one who wants to talk to you knows your number.
Reason #813 - - she never answers the bloody phone.

The cool kids are running Boston in 2012...You didn't get the e-mail? Ouch.

Apparently a 10yr also lets the battery get pretty low. That will be the reason she didn't answer...phone died mom.

"I didn't hit you, I high fived your face". LOVE IT! There are a few people that I'd love to high five in the face! :)

What's up with the shirt. And your daughter not answering her phone?

I am not waiting!!! I will see you in 2011 :))))))))))

ARON --- YAY! YAY! YAY!! SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!

On the top ---- think the thought was something like ----- he thinks I need rehab for running. The conversation was actually hilarious but he started out with "you can't blog[stitute] this". bummer.

Evolving Through Running said...

Seeing as how the world is going to end in 2012, I think the wise move would be to run Boston in 2011. However, if the apocalypse were to strike just as you crossed the line in 2012, it would make for an epic race recap.

Faced with this dilemma, I've opted to remain far too slow to BQ to reduce the anxiety in having to choose. All part of my master plan.

Emz said...

ETR - this is exactly what I said to 2012 Boston runners [almost word for word]. Hilarious. Loved it.

ShutUpandRun said...

If I get a spot, I am there in 2011 with you!!

Caratunk Girl said...

Hey if I could qualify, I would TOTALLY register! But I am kind of a slow sluggish girl...

I love 10 things Tuesday, the high fived your face is awesome. I love to high five too!

Jill said...

Ya gotta do Boston while it's in your system, girl - that's when it's the most fun. Boston's a great time. Be sure to stay right in the middle of stuff going on - it's so fun (the Marriott Copley is connected to the expo and you have to walk thru an indoor mall to get there. sweet, huh?).

"I love going to sportsbars... Not because I like sports or wings... I just really like slapping fives." - Demetri Martin
Agree. Me.

Emz said...

Ed. Awesome. Quote.

Jill - yay!! Thanks for that comment. So appreciated. It's surely in my system so it's a "go". :)

SU&R -see you there!!!!!

I love to high 5 people in the face, oddly we were just talking about that at lunch today.

Teamarcia said...

Yay for Boston! Love crossing that finish line more than anything--even the day before the race!

That number 1 made my day! =D

oh, apparently i CAN comment on your blog...weird, I couldn't for awhile. anyway...your posts always make me laugh!! I'm running Boston in 2011, well, if the sign-up goes well on Monday. But it does seem like a lot of people aren't running it this year. I live about a 1/4 mile from the finish line so i don't have to travel very far. :-)

Emz said...

B + R -- no way! 1/4 from finish?! Awesome!!
Hoping sign up "goes well" can you or someone please lmk how it may not go well?!?!

Rule #1 - Always answer the phone when your Mom calls you!

misszippy said...

Ya know you're persuading me for 2011, right? And then if everyone else does 12, we could always go back, right?

Generation X (Slomohusky) said...

I thought the Mayan's and their Calendar says we all die in 2011. Yet, here's putting my History Degree to use - didn't the Mayans all die already? Like 2,000 years ago? Some calendar?

You did not not answer my question - is it 200 crunches a day to get your Abs of steel. Flabby Abbies wont to know?

Emz said...

MissZ-EXACTLY!! We'll be pros for 2012!!
Or they can pay us to be tour guides. ;)

Char- love that.

Emz said...

Slowmo- because I owe it all to in-n-out. ;)
Okay - maybe a few planks & crunches but not 200, let's not be crazy until the mayan's get to Boston.

Generation X (Slomohusky) said...

must be great genes then. the only thing in-and-out got me was flabby abbies.

Allie said...

Little known fact: I have massive hands, like total man hands.

Carrie said...

That's AWESOME that you are doing Boston 2011! I am going to be volunteering at one of the water stations during the route. I'll have my camera, so if I see you I'll try to get a good pic of you to post!

Emz said...

Carrie-yay me. I'll be wearing a buckle. ;)

Allie - welcome back. Man hands.

Unknown said...

If I was going to Boston, I would go in 2011. 11 is just a way cooler number than 12.

#1 is like my house every day :) Dang boys.

My father in laws hands are ginormous. He has to have his rings custom made.

Seeing as how you just had a righteous list of your own, I tagged you for this silly Versatile Blogger Thing as I enjoy reading your blog and would always love to learn more about you. http://thewholehalfmarathon.blogspot.com/

I'll be doing the Boston Boogie on Sunday afternoon, after my hubby qualifies and it's a go for the both of us, FINALLY! No more solo Bostons for me! So how long are you willing to stay on line to register on Monday? I don't have to work so I'll be on ALL day if need be!! We should have a National Boston Registration Party on our BLOGS!! Let's do it up big time ; balloons, cake, pink lemonade, belt buckles and party hats!!

Emz said...

Meg-let's do it!! Party Monday!! I work from home so I'll be online all day!! If needed!

Goose-yay!! Thanks!! I'll get on it!!

The Green Girl said...

Um, if I could I'd register for Boston in 2011. If that is any consolation.

Zaneta @ Runner's Luck said...

If I could, I would sign up for boston 2011... but I have run 0 marathons so that's a no go!

Also, when I first got my cell phone after getting my drivers license I would get missed calls from my parents like crazy (i promise i didn't do it on purpose) and would receive voicemails from my dad stating that if I didn't answer phone calls, I didn't need a phone and would be without one if i missed another one of his calls! lol...

My 9 year old son and I have a "secret handshake" (thats what he calls it) that starts with a high-five. We never part without our handshake. It sounds like Boston rates there by you as Comrades here by us.

Matty O said...

I will pay you to be my tour guide in 2012. The reason is that NONE OF US QUALIFIED THIS YEAR!!! Thanks for rubbing it in. Sheesh, as if I wasn't coming down on myself enough for being such a failure now you are publicly humiliating me. (joking... maybe.)

I hope you have fun in Boston. If you drive out there stop by Cleveland, we can go for a run.

2012 means that I have ALL next year to qualify. This year was about losing my weight first and getting a base. Next year, next year I will be "lightening" ;)

UHHHHH kids with phones - no likey. let them be kids, don't give them responsibility :)

Jamie said...

Do boston! Go for it! It sounds like you could persuade people by calling them out. :)

Scott McMurtrey said...

I'm counting down the hours for when registration opens too!

Velma said...

The first one is my kids. I would do Boston this year if I could run a little faster - could ya pull me!!!

I think my son has said #1 when hitting his sister.

And, uh, I never answer my phone either. But I always respond to texts!

Anne said...

Once again, I waited too long to read your post, which means I've just spent 10 minutes reading all the comments :) I love that you respond to comments!

You are so ready for Boston, why wait...High Five to you EMZ (oops, didn't mean to smack you in the face).

heather said...

Love #1 - even better than Q's shirts!

Would love to do Boston with you but seeing how I can still barely 3 miles...

You will rock it though. Esp. if Pita and tiny hands are there to cheer you on!

Emz said...

Morgan - yay me!! Can't wait!

Anne - thx for reading all my chatter. ;)

Heather - day. Made. ;)

It seems I'm making a habit of being a day late with my comments, but #1 is awesome. I left your post open just to show that to my hubby. And speaking of husbands...after that t-shirt story, I think ours could be brothers.

I like this post.Very cool. Nice pictures, especially the pinkie fingers photo. Nice! :) ~ smartwoolk ~

I yell at “Jose” almost every day for not answering my calls. DUDE, if I am calling you there is a reason behind it and since you don’t pay your phone bill and I am your ride home, you might want to answer! Ok, he has ended up walking home a few times (hey, it is only about two miles, I can do that in my sleep!)

Petraruns said...

So honey I'm late to this - are you in? Because I am and I'm already ready for you.
