Each January, I find myself saying the same thing . . .
This year I will:
* Not do laundry every day
* Stop worrying if I have random unattached hairs on the back of my shirt
* Have Peanut make her own lunch
* Stop checking my email at every red light
* Learn photoshop
* Run outside once a week
* Learn all my account numbers for my credit cards
* Not have the TV on during dinner
* Remember to call my family & friends on their birthdays
* Read a [as in singular - ONE] book
* r e l a x
* Be a better friend
* Never start a sentence with the phrase, "no offense"
* Enjoy the process
44% [you know I love that] of all Americans make "New Years Resolutions".
res·o·lu·tion
[rez-uh-loo-shuhn]noun
1. a formal expression of opinion or intention made, usually after voting, by a formal organization, a legislature, a club, or other group. Compare concurrent resolution, joint resolution.
2. a resolve or determination: to make a firm resolution to do something.
3. the act of resolving or determining upon an action or course of action, method, procedure, etc
However, I love the way Gretchin Rubin thinks of NYR's . . . . more like "COMMANDMENTS".
12 Rules [commandments] to strive to keep for the upcoming year.

So here they are in NO specific oder.
Emz Commandments:
1. Make time for projects.

Love the card from your daughter! Your commandments are great.
Just piping in with my agreement to the other comments. : )
Awesome kid! The things our children make with their own hands and hearts are always the best presents.
Those are some awesome resolutions. :-D
I love peanut's creativity and yours too! All true statements!! BTW, I always check for blonde hairs when I am wearing black shirts! :)
Loved the AZ weather while we were there!
That is a great card!
And some great commandments!
Peanut.Is.Freaking.Awesome!! Love the card. Thanks for sharing.
That is the best birthday card. One cool kid who knows how to treat her mom right :)
Love those resolutions AND those commandments.
Those are great! Especially, not starting sentences with "no offense". I wish everyone would make that resolution.
My resolution is to stay in better touch with my family since they're 2,000 miles away. It's so easy to lose touch.
I love the card!
you forgot one on your list but let me help you with that.
-must go to California.
you're welcome.
your daughter's card made me all teary. i love your commandments, too. each and every one :o)
More speed work this year...
ps your Peanut is great, (so is mine, he is a little Jack Russel!)
I'm going to eat more Kumquats.
Commandments sound more solid than resolutions - sort of like they're written in stone. I like yours!
I love your commandments - that's awesome.
I also love your daughter and that card. She is so cool. I love that it says Weird - Yes...she's great!
No Resolutions here, I guess I am in the 66% catagory then. Sounds like some good resolutions you have there though. I just make goals for myself, and try to achieve them. If I miss the mark, then I don't feel too bad.
I am just finishing reading the Happiness Project. Although I find her commandments, well, commanding, I have taken a few things from the book. I really like the idea of just having more fun, laughing out loud and getting serious about play.
Great card!
My resolution "love me!"
Love your commandments!! I don't make NYRs I do however set weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly goals for myself :-)
I just signed up to take a photoshop class!!
I LOVE that card!!
This year I am going to run 959km on my new treadmill!
In your honour even!
Great card.
Great list of commandments.
No resolutions but going to just try to be the best me I can be everyday of the year.
Love the commandments and the card from Peanut!!
Seriously though... who honestly reads? haha. Heather does, not I. I figure she makes up for my lack of reading :)
As for my resolutions. Gluten free to the best I can. Trying to see if it helps my tummy tum tum when I run run run.
My goal for this year is to have more fun with my running, and to stop being afraid to push it. P-p-p-push it real good! (I'm sure you've used that one for the title of a post)
Happy Belated Birthday!
: )
