"Lights" - Ellie Goulding

Two things Tuesday.

Because I have like TWO seconds to do a post. BUT . . . .

Two of the freaking best things EVER!!!!

1. I received the FREAKING best visor in the mail . . .

See, I told you. I'm a HUGE PRR fan. If only I was sweet enough to be a racing member . . One day Emz, One day [when I'm dead]. You can buy one here: [click]

I posted the picture on Instagram [linking to Twitterati]

So of course Mr [treadmills suck] J-Moo had to chime in. rude. but I may have laughed given him the bird.

From today's run. In the visor.
See HOW bright that screen is J-moo? It's a NEED.

2. Peanut. Freaking love her guts. We had one of the sweetest convesations ever yesterday. [I may post about it one day . . . but . . . . not today.]

She stayed at a friend's place last night - - - so this morning we were texting.

Freaking love that kid.

* * * * * *

What two things are making you smile today?

WWW - wiggity Wack Wednesday

Wednesday's are always wack around my place. Not really sure why. It's probably just that "hump day" thinking [....seriously, I'm only HALF way through this week?]

This week has been fun. Peanut has been in an additional volleyball camp for an extra 3 hours each morning.

She's loving it.

I've been going to the gym more frequently due to the location & time of her camp. It's a different LA Fitness than we usually go to which I LOVE.....mostly.

People are WAY more chatty at this location which is a + and a -.

My favorite comments from this morning:

* how long you going to stay on there? [treadmill]
* you sweat a lot
* are you training for something?

* what's punk rock racing?
* didn't we used to go to the same church? [holy crap, hadn't see that guy in 6 years]
* did you get your abs from running?

[this is with earphones on]. . . .

but the people were super nice [minus the guy who seemed really put off by my sweatfest]

And starting tomorrow morning . . .

there will be no more need for this set-up:

[yes, "crazy, stupid love" a top five favorite of mine......and his abs may be as well]

Because the Woodway & that TV is getting "the hopper" - the hoppa? The HOPPA!

Happy WWW!

WHAT'S the weirdest, most random thing anyone has ever said to you before at the gym?

"Back In Time" - Pitbull

So I know we all wish the weekends would be a little a lot longer 99.9% of the time . . .

.....last weekend was no exception.

It was a blast.

Peanut's big 12th birthday celebration . . . .

Started at 3pm Friday.

Ended 9:30pm Saturday.

So. Much. Fun.  seriously.

The "pre" work . . .

miles, cakes, dog bath

The party "favors"

Each girl received a towel with her name on it & a pair of shoes to decorate.

Then the fun began . . . .

Swimming, games & tons of treats.

The game was a HUGE hit.

Each group of three had five minutes to make a dress.

h i l a r i o u s !

Then with toilet paper . . .

Then the cake . . .

It was truly a party to remember.
Can honestly say this was my favorite party Peanut has ever had! [and it was a sleepover, I know, crazy] ;)

They were still going strong the next morning. [on limited sleep, I must mention]

And they decorated their shoes.  I wish I would have thought to take the photo of all the shoes before they left.   So freaking creative these 12 year olds!

note to self:  have a birthday party for myself to score some major muuuulaaaaa!

We only had one party pooper the whole weekend . . . .

. . . . the nine pound rat . . . . . not the 275 pound Pita.

Happy 12th Birthday to my sweet Peanut.

"Photo Ops" - Terence Blanchard

Wordless. [I'm a freaking] Weirdo. Wednesday.

[ummm, sorry Dad, but you should know better]

[Y-von, rocks]

[fine, here, one crass-less photo with my Mom.]

[borrowing friends to go on trips --- most recommended.]

[what attitude?]

my beautiful sisters.

the beautiful bride.
and her Dad's awesome garage sign . . .

....I'm going to need one of those for the Pita.

ya, ya, ya I ran outside . ....blah, blah, blah.. . . then I finished my run where I like it . . . on the hotel treadmill.

Last one . . .

My way of celebrating National Running Day:

All. smiles.

"Playing Small" - Damaris

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
~Nelson Mandela
One of my favorite bloggers had a portion of this quote on his blog.

“There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”

It has always stood out to me.
I. freaking. love. it.
My Peanut and I talked about this and other topics for nearly an hour yesterday , as we got her ready for church camp.
[with undoubtedly the freaking coolest bag at camp-thanks PRR!]
She is one week away from her 12th birthday and let me say . . . .things are changing way too fast around our home.  The conversations are much more serious, which is hard when she has a mom that's a tiny bit sarcastic.
I'm used to questions like:
* Would you rather eat a scab salad or blister juice?
* Would you rather be set on fire or freeze to death?
* Why can't I invite who I want to my party?
* Would you rather have a dog with diarrhea or a dog that throws up?
I'm NOT used to these ones:
* Why are girls so mean to each other?
* Can I shave?
* Why do people say untrue things about each other?
* Why don't people worry more about their own business?
* Why do you have to read all my texts?
We hit on some super random topics.
Everything from friends, to zit cream ,to truly being happy.  But one thing is for sure - - - this girl of mine - - there's no stopping her.  Not exactly sure where she found her self-esteem but it freaking rocks.
i. am. taking. notes. from. her.
Too often we allow ourselves to feel inadequate and afraid of letting our lights shine in fear that we may fail..and fail miserably...in front of what may feel like the whole world.
worst. mistake. ever.
Yes, I have a ever growing list of "to-do's", "must do's" and "freaking will do without a question" in life.  I may fail once, or four times while trying but I will do them.
no. question.
*And to "savruns" who sent me the SNA {sooooo not awesome}email last week.*
I [not sarcastically] thank you.
I take being a "freak" as a HUGE FREAKING compliment.
So how are you "playing big" in life today?
