[Brought to me by my Brother-In-Law "Buff".]
For being a runner, I suck at the numbers "thing". I do not enjoy number crunching. [pace, distance, heart rate, VO2, blah, blah, blah..]
I run.
I love to run.
While I do enjoy seeing the numbers on the treadmill [miles completed]. I rarely give a flying fart about my pace. Don't get me wrong I do the speed workouts, 800's, hills, whatever but I finish - I write down total distance [in my phone] and I'm done . . . until tomorrow. No analyzing.
So when I got a text from "Buff" saying, "How many miles have you logged since you started training for your marathons last year?". I was like, " (*&$@# if I know " followed by, "a lot". He wasn't so impressed. So I took a ballpark figure per week told him I started the last week in September 2009. He came up with his figure - then I said there's no way it's THAT many miles.
So, I sat down with my phone, a pad of paper and [a calculator, yuck] and started adding.
Yep - I did it. I'm not telling how long it took me. Sad. Just very sad how many times I checked and double checked [and maybe triple checked] to make sure the number was right!??
Ya, so running/training for 10 months has yielded me . . . . . .
2,380 miles.
crazy.
I love crazy.
