"Right Thurr" - Chingy

So my official Christmas/work shopping began yesterday at Saks.

I took the opportunity to multi task after I saw this add [below] and knew I had 800's on my running schedule.

But instead , I wore these.

Bring on "long run/black Friday".

What time will you be heading off to the stores Friday?
Got your game plan?
Game Face?
4" Heels?

This "Target Chic" is goin' down.

I love the Target commercials... but I adore your version. Hope you get most of your shopping done with no injuries!

4" heels - transportation and a weapon...

KovasP said...

Aaah, your new minimalist trail shoes. Good protection and that spike gives you traction. Nice.

Harold said...

You couldn't pay me to go shopping on black Friday :)

Jill said...

That Target ad cracks me up...but she has nothing on you!!! YOU GOT ABS, them are good for hauling ass!

KovasP said...

Maybe you can buy some underwear for Adam, since you're not buying anything for me. Meanie.

Emz said...

Kovas - underwear for Adam?! Are you drinking already this morning?!

KovasP said...

Drinking in the morning is a time-honored tradition. Underwear for Adam is a charity thing. JK - that's what he wants for Jill's holiday exchange.Don't you read comments before yours or is always about you?

Marlene said...

That commercial is hilarious! I wish we had Target here. I also wish we had Black Friday! No fair!

Emz said...

Kovas - you. Are. A. Piece. Of. Work. Duh. It's. All. About. Me.

In true "6 degrees of separation" fashion, I went to high school with the target chick. Her name is Maria Bamford, and her stand up is pretty funny.

Black Friday is only for running shoes ;) Since I am incapable of even walking in heels, they are automatically out of contention. A fashionista I am NOT.

Saw the commercial yesterday and thought of you... is that disturbing? Even more disturbing you actually post this commercial today HAHAHA!

NOW, can I get you to wear those heels if you ever come to cleveland? I need my yard aerated (holes poked into it) so that i get more nutrients and greener grass. I will pay you to walk around my yard :) Cross training. Promise.

Jen said...

Hilarious commercial! Excellent shoes. I'm so glad we don't have black friday. You couldn't pay me enough!!

Emz said...

MO - laughing so hard. Mostly that you felt I'd need the definition of "aerated". Hilarious. You bet cha. One aerated yard coming up. ;)

Matty O said...

YOU DON'T HAVE YARDS OUT THERE! ITS ALL GRASS AND ROCKS!

Sorry, I assumed aerating was a midwestern thing :)

Seriously though, I can put some weights in a backpack in case you need some more force to get a good 3 inch plug.

Emz said...

MO - yes. Let's add weights for cross training purposes only. ;) oh & on the all caps YARD comment.... You needed to add "and cacti".

Matty O said...

AND CACTI!!!!

I actually thought of Beth from SUAR when I first saw this ad. Wow can you autgraph a pair of those shoes after you do Tuscon in them? They would look great with the buckle!

I have to say I love your blog! I started reading a few weeks ago. I think the Target commericals are so funny!! Love it! Thanks for the laughs and have a great Thanksgiving!

Emz said...

Jill - love it. ;)

Slowmo - SU&R ..... She'd rock in those ads.
Let's start out with a 5k heels race first. ;)

Emz said...

Skoval21- yay! Thanks for commenting!! Happy T-day to you!! :)

Shawn said...

I too would rather have all my fingernails pulled before shopping anywhere, at anytime or at worst, your black friday.....unless its a sports store.....do those spikes come in RED...might make for an interesting Santa Suit?

RunningLaur said...

How did her head stay so level while running? impressive.

Julie @ HotlegsRunner said...

I am heading down to Target too! I think it's all their TVCs on black Friday that convinced me. This blonde woman has been training for black friday! maybe we should too! LOL!

Caratunk Girl said...

Hey if anyone messes with you, you can take off a heel and start beating them with it. :)

I don't do black Friday, I am a cyber Monday kind of girl. :)

Molly said...

No running around Targeee for moi...I did it yesterday!

Shellyrm ~ just a country runner said...

Love the ad.

Not as crazy about the shopping.

Im not big on shopping but the shoes are hot!

Aimee said...

Ha ha ha...you crack me up!

I'm not sure if I'm doing the whole Black Friday thing. I'll have both boys (3 and 5) with me and having them in the midst of hundreds of crazed shoppers just does not sound fun to me...no matter what the deal may be!

My mother had back surgery a long time ago, she asked me if I would go out for her on Black Friday. I said ok, she gave me a list of exactly where to go when, first stop was a store that was giving out a free stuffed penguin (in fact it was Meryvns in Mesa, you remember Mervyns? I guess they are gone now). I never seen such rude, almost riot like behavior for a small 4 inch free penquin. That doesnt include people stealing things out of other peoples carts, wall to wall people, like you were leaving a football game. That was the one and only time that I will EVER go out on Black Friday.

I live and breathe for black friday! Seriously, I have been working on my attack plan and have had my babysitter on stand by since June. Last year I had all of my Christmas shopping by 10am on black friday! This year with stores like Toys R Us opening at 10pm on Thurs night, I might beat last years time!! LOL!! Target lady has nothing on me!! Except maybe that red jumpsuit...gotta get one.

Emz said...

BDD - hilarious. As soon asi find my penguin in my cmas crap....I'm posting about it. The free penguin. Rocked. And still. Rocks. ;)

Unknown said...

I'd rather let Ray Lewis and James Harrison take turns tackling me than go out on Black Friday. It would be safer.

My wife is a retail store manager and gets really grumpy this time of year. She hates BF more than anyone!!!

lmao! i haven't seen that clip yet... :D love it. gotta watch it again. ha!

racing dawn said...

you're about to put the hurt on someone with those shoes...

they'll look great with a little 'black friday' sequin dress.

go get 'em...

DRog said...

those heels look like they would offer a great calf workout?!

Friday = training all day:)

Emz said...

Racing dawn - they are my secret weapon!! ;)

Awesome commercial! :) You are brave. I left last year at 3 with a girlfriend and we had a ball though - had breakfast around 5:30 and was back home around 8! :) Not this year though...

I go shopping on the 23rd of December. Or shop online. I'd rather get my teeth pulled without Novacaine than hit a mall on the best of days, never mind Black Friday. In fact, I like music more than shopping.

Shocked, aren't you?

Emz said...

Patrick-
Hate music. ?
Hate shopping. ?
What's next? You hate shoes?!

Colleen - love it. My shopping partner every year.....peanut. Whether she likes it or not. ;) think she'll be praying for a Thursday night invitation to sleep over at a friend's place. ;)

Patrick Mahoney said...

No, I like shoes.

Jon said...

I will be running 4 miles Friday AM.

Then I will do all of my Xmas shopping on-line this year :)

Anonymous said...

Generally, I don't do black Friday... unless a friend asks me to come along, and then I suffer for the cause. ;-)

Gracie said...

You know, every one of the pairs of shoes you post makes me drool.

Sarah said...

I'm wearing my jammies while I don't shop. :-D Heheheheh.

XLMIC said...

You're a stronger woman than I. I cannot do Black Friday.

Have fun!

Jason said...

I will wake up and make banana walnut pancakes with Chico since Karen is heading out at 4am. She knows me very well and I'll just start playing tackle football with people if I were up that early to not go running but to instead fight crowds.

Besides we have the information super highway for Black Friday....just order while wearing skivvies and drinking coffee!!!!!

Pam @ herbieontherun.com said...

I used to do the 3:00 a.m. black friday thing, but the past couple of years I've done my black friday shopping from right here at my laptop!

Char said...

I've never heard of Black Friday. It sounds more like a day of mourning than a day of shopping - or maybe it's all about mourning the credit card statement or the loss of three toenails because you wore inappropriate shoes on a shopping marathon.

Melissa Cunningham said...

i heart those shoes, and i just lol'd at that add.....
we have a target here, and i just may have to bring out my pretty lil red heels!??

Silly Girl Running said...

SGR and holiday shopping just don't mix... I'll probably order something online. Yay, I'm a party pooper, I know. ;)

Kathy said...

I can't help but crack up every time I see that commercial!!! Love it!!!

Johann said...

And here I am all the way from South Africa and I have no clue what Black Friday is...? Please enlighten me!

budget menu lady said...

Black Friday is the term given to the Friday after Thanksgiving. A big shopping day in the states and the day retailers usually go from being in the "red" to being in the "black" and making money for the year. Stores offer crazy gimmicks and open at unheard of hours to lure shoppers in. Some love it, and think of it as a sport or game.

Big Daddy Diesel said...

I dont have your email, so this is the only way I can reply back to you.

I love that you are going to race with your nephew. We are a different breed, we understand that what we do is much more then just being endurance atheltes. All of us are a role model to someone. They look up to us, and yet, we were just like them at one point of our life, looking up to someone else with envy. We all took our first step at one point in our life, there is no better gift to pay it forward and watch someone else take their first step.
