Freaking Friday Fabulous

Does anyone NOT like Friday?

Here's why I'm loving mine already.

Exhibit A:

Peanut has not yet asked for these.

It's probably just a  matter of time.  Unfortunately, I think they are sweet.

Exhibit B:

Long run . . . . . . done.
Fav music from today's run:
*Cinderella Man - Eminem
*Peanut Butter & Jelly - Cadillac Don & J-Money
*Pass out - Tinie Tempah
*Love The Way You Lie - Eminem
[ya, it was a bit of a happy/angry run day].

Exhibit C:
My favorite new cool down song.
Which is very important because I hate - hate - hate "cooling down" [almost as much as I hate stretching] with a passion.
Video is a little vivid - [was the only one without ads] may want to just itunes / google that. I believe in [full] disclosure. ;)

Exhibit D:

Happy got an iPhone for her Birthday.  So we did this while at lunch yesterday.

Exhibit E:
I am going to wear make-up today.  So I won't have to pose for photos like this.  I work from home - - - why wear make-up?!

........ and I don't even have a date tonight.  This make-up thing is big
people . .  b i g.

Exhibit F:
Seriously, who posses for a photo like this?

NON-Exhibit G:
Had the best chat with Peanut on the way to camp today
But out of no where she says, "mom, can you run as fast a car driving down the street we live on?  I know you can't run like the speed on a fast road but like our house road?"
Cracked me up.  She's been to 5 of my 6 marathons?!  She knows my speed/non-speed.

So [I'll throw myself under the bus here for you . . . ] I gave my Peanut my old iPhone for her b-day . . . . what?  I wanted the new one with all the problems.
Sooooo . . .  I told her to google "Usain Bolt MPH" ------- seriously the man super-human ran 23.35mph in the 2009 World Finals.

Insane.  Awesome.  Amazing what the body can do.

Yep, random.  Yep, that's me.

Happy Friday!!

My "go to".

So what's your "go to" when you've had an off moment, day, week, month [ya, you get it].  ?

Where do you turn?
Who do you turn to?
Music?
Friends?
Gym?
Walls? [the ones without any holes......yet]
Family?

Well, for me, today . . . it's photos.
Photos of my favoUrite happy, awesome, giddy, silly and special days.

Sorry, no explanations will be given as to why - but each one has a unique significance to me.  And I'm selfish, I wanted them all in one place so I can stop searching through files when I'd like to see them.

The camera.  One of the best inventions.  ever.

Treadmill Thursday's

Okay, so for as much time as I spend running on this revolving plastic/rubber thing . . . I figure I might as well include a once weekly, monthly, when ever I get around to it post about how to change "it" up / make it fun -[er] / how I keep from slitting my wrists each day I hop on "Ed".

Yes, I insist that my treadmill has a name. It MUST be a man name - and since I lack a creative side his name is "Ed".  Not Mr. Ed

      --- just good ol' Ed.

So starting next Thursday, I will start "Treadmill Thursday's".

I receive quite a few emails from fellow bloggers about my training [marathon training specifically] on a treadmill
Through this weekly post, I hope to:

*address these questions
*include ways to keep treadmill workouts from being [too] boring.
*discuss why I think this is a great mental toughness tool
*settings [what little tweaks to incline can do]

I am determined to show you [my fellow runners and not yet runners alike] that "Ed"ing it is fun.  And ------ wait for it ----- wait for it ----- may actually help you on your path to fitness or [gasp] reach your PR goal.

Got questions?  Sweet.  [but make sure they are nice] ;)

I am . . .

. . . . thankful for my niece Emma today.  Happy 10th Birthday!
. . . . grateful Peanut gets moments like this with the Pita.

. . . most "worry free" when I'm doing this:

not racing . . . just running.

. . . . Happy my friend is home from her 3 week vacation.
. . . . Happy I get to have lunch with "happy" today.
. . . . thrilled Peanut is [finally] loving volleyball.

. . . . a woman who has been challenged beyond what I thought I was capable of handling.  I may be a little stronger than I thought after all. ;)
. . . . always more content after I've had my morning chat/visit with Peanut.

. . . . happy that I have brother & sisters.
. . . . sad that Peanut doesn't.
. . . . Blessed to have my Peanut.
. . . . getting a [super] sweet arm band from "Q".  awesome.  I'm sending him Rhubarb pie.  Pretty sure he's getting the raw end of that deal.
. . . . stoked that I won/was right [as usual] ; ) and that the Pita lost the bet and had to bring in all the Costco carts, in two rows which equaled 3 trips . . . . looking like he was an employee [minus the sweet beeping mechanical machine]

. . . . happy he doesn't read my blog.
. . . . hoping my pace partner for my Top of Utah Marathon doesn't back out on me!!  Come on W!  Crank it up!
 . . . . loving my new kicks

I'm sure [sarc-mark] they'll do great things for my running form and core.

Happy Hump Day.  I love Wednesday's.

The little things

Things that made me smile these last few days.
I made this.  From scratch.  [yep, crust too].  Rhubarb pie.  yum.

So I text all my "peeps" Sunday night . . . and I got three.  Meaning three "takers" on my pie offer.   M, M & E [my two nieces and nephew].  So happy they drove from almost Anthem Flagstaff to visit!

Sorry the Pita kicked your little booty M.

And M2 was busy texting me while I was in the other room.

Loved this quote from "date night".

And believe it or not . . . .

It actually rained.  Seriously.  rain.  finally.  rain.

I always loved Socrates.

What is making your day "happy" today?

A little "yay" moment

[Brought to me by my Brother-In-Law "Buff".]

For being a runner, I suck at the numbers "thing".  I do not enjoy number crunching.  [pace, distance, heart rate, VO2, blah, blah, blah..]

I run.

I love to run.

While I do enjoy seeing the numbers on the treadmill [miles completed].  I rarely give a flying fart about my pace.  Don't get me wrong I do the speed workouts, 800's, hills, whatever but I finish - I write down total distance [in my phone] and I'm done . . . until tomorrow.  No analyzing.

So when I got a text from "Buff" saying, "How many miles have you logged since you started training for your marathons last year?".  I was like, " (*&$@# if I know " followed by, "a lot".  He wasn't so impressed.  So I took a ballpark figure per week told him I started the last week in September 2009.  He came up with his figure - then I said there's no way it's THAT many miles.

So, I sat down with my phone, a pad of paper and [a calculator, yuck] and started adding

Yep - I did it.  I'm not telling how long it took me.  Sad.  Just very sad how many times I checked and double checked [and maybe triple checked] to make sure the number was right!??

Ya, so running/training for 10 months has yielded me . . . . . .

2,380 miles.

crazy.

I love crazy.

Friday Motivation!

If by chance, you're having a less than ideal day . . . .
. . . .  maybe you should try standing on your counter and shouting at yourself in the mirror.

Worked for me today!
