"Little Things" - Boyz II Men

Little things I learned over the weekend.

1.  Taking my mom out for her birthday dinner . . . . a half pound burger.  Is kinda big.  but easily killable. yum.

2.  Letting Peanut do a "guest blog" post for my mom's birthday. . . . . confused the heck out of most of you [and me].  she begged.  I let her.  [the mistake came in not "proofing" it first].

3.  While searching for a photo of Peanut and her Nana . . . .we found this photo.

which
I
freaking
love.

4.  Super Bowl Party last night . . . . was a blast

Waking up trying to get this in with a stomach [still way full of food].  did. not. make. for. a. great. good. run. [duh].

5.  Getting an email from Pita saying only this:  "ifgt"  - - - did help me kill the last two miles.

6.  I suck at writing "form" letters.  I keep wanting to do this:

                       "I'm. writing. to. see.  if. you. would. be. . . . "

Ya, not too professional looking.

7.  I have 4 days to read this.

One
day
I will
understand
this
sport
right?!

8.  I should have bet on the game last night.  My [non-betting] pick Packers by 7 or less.  Ya, guess who could/would have won $60 last night.  URGGGG.

9.  An email from Petra letting me know she "nailed" her 18 mile treadmill run.

you.  freaking.  rock. [you must read that post - click on her name.  I love this woman!]

10.  The little thing that made me sooooooo happy this morning.  Walking into my room after I finished my run . . . . . .

to.
see.
my.
bed.
made.

no. joke. this [to me]. is. like. finding. $100. in. my. back. pocket.

Happy. Emz.

What little thing is making you happy today?!

Huh! I've grown up in a Rugby-loving country. I've had the rules explained to me - over and over again. I still don't get the game, I just know the ref blows his whistle lots. They lift their team mates up by their shorts and give them a wedgie. There is a thing called a ruck and maul - don't ask me what it is. Some games are just too hard!

Char.
freaking
love
your
comment.

Seriously. Awesome.
I've seen way to many a naked butt + exposed jock strap watching this "lovely" game. And the ears freaking gross me out.

Matty-O - butt kisser. Your wife doesn't read my blog. I mean so sweet.

I motivated myself to hit the grocery store over my lunch hour so now we won't have to face that battle after work. *sigh of relief*

Reading your blog makes me happy.

I'm also happy about working with the fourth graders at school and getting to listen to Emma sing in the choir and wearing my new bright pink swim cap and thinking about my parents who are in Costa Rica and loving that they are in the hot sun and sand.

I can't remember the last time my bed was made. Even when I change the sheets I just throw the blankets back on top. The blankets only get spread out right before I climb in.

What made my day today? Finding the perfect recipe to use up the giant bag of lemons I was given last night.

Cashew chicken for lunch! It's amazing how something so small can make such a difference.

Oh my! Cutest picture EVER!

I could not have run 16 miles this morning to save the life of my child after last nights food fest. Nice Work!!!

I'm happy today because my checkbook balanced on the first attempt! The little things:)

Just having a sunny day above 30 degrees is making me giddy!

BTW - why are you learning the rules to Rugby -- I played that crazy sport in college. Loved it!

I love the "IFGT" email. He so get you! Can he teach other husbands a class?

Love your nose rings!

Someone else made the bed! Wow. I'm lucky if the sheets are not left in a pile.

Made me day? My little guy (finally) woke up (after much back rubbing) pretending to be a kitty and telling me he dreamed about his pennies. You can't make this stuff up!

Shellyrm ~ just a country runner said...

yeah...I did mean pennies as in money. Not a misspelled body part...just to clarify!

BTW, Boyz II Men. Noted.

Those nose rings are hot.

What made me happy today is that it is Monday! Monday's are MY day of "rest" after Sunday. :0 Maybe you will understand this EMZ?
Of course by rest I mean kids are at school and Sadie and I hit the gym for 5 miles for me, play time for her, then the library, the bank, lunch, and now she is napping. 1 more hour just for me. Laundry, dishes, bathrooms to clean--nah--I'll just read blogs.

Go Packers!

Adrienne said...

P.S. I do NOT get Rugby either and I consider myself a semi- intelligent woman. Good luck.

Oh - and re rugby. I have NEVER watched a rugby match. On TM on Saturday I had to. SUCH. HOTNESS. SUCH. HOTNESS. Maybe that's why I was smiling.

That picture of you two is so cute! and funny with the nose rings! I'm happy that no one in my family is sick today!

My family is making me happy today... but I guess that is not a "little" thing... lol.

Planning a fun family vacation is getting me smiling today... can't wait... it's been waaayyyyy too long.

that email from Petra is awesome, glad you could help her out with some motivation!

And you should seriouly patent your phrase:
"You've
Freaking

This"
maybe put it on the back of your RUN EMZ shirts? If there isn't something on the back already? haha

Christi said...

I would freakin' love to walk into my room and see my bed made. How does that happen?

If you understand NFL you gotta be able to get your head around rugby! Best.Game.Eva! Go the Wallabies! (that one is for PITA)

My day was made when I kept up with the fast girls on the first run of our run/ride/run/ride/run/ride session this morning :) I had to tell my friend not to talk to me "Can't talk.......trying...to...breath" :) I got smashed by them on the bike after that..who cares! It was a small victory for the magoos like me

That picture is so precious. You need to frame it and hang it somewhere, now!

Seeing your bed made is an unreal feeling. When I go out to train at 4:30am and get home at 6;00am and Karen has made the bed I fall in love all over again.

The other thing that made me happy today is that Karen ate my cooking and spoke to highly of it. I just love that she is willing to try my cooking even if she has never heard of the ingredient I am cooking.

At the end of the day....she makes me happy. Love her.

Hai Emz,

I've seen your name pop up on several blogs we both read and some have mentioned you in a very positive way so I thought: let's check out this blog.

And I have to say I love it. You have an original way of writing and I like that.

So added you to my reader and will be back for more.

We had a party for my dad's birthday this weekend and it was so special. I hope I will be so special to my son one day as well. I'm working on it.
Small thing that makes me happy...EMZ learning about rugby! And my son showed me two new baby fish in his aquarium this morning. He already named them.
